Abdul Malik
Bristol East
Born in Bristol, Abdul started off in business aged just 17 and was elected as Bristol’s first ever Asian/Muslim Councillor in 2005.
Abdul holds a permanent surgery in the area and has, in the past run a Law surgery with local law students. Abdul also runs a regular business mentoring surgery which aims to help young people into business.
His work has not gone unnoticed. Abdul won Bristol’s Evening post’s ‘Social Responsibility Award 2011’ for his work on various projects in the local area and he also featured in the M Shed Museum as someone who makes Bristol, Bristol. Abdul was also one of the first Councillors to gain a ‘BTEC in Local Governance’ award and was part of the ‘Operation Black Vote’ Scheme as a mentor.
Abdul’s success drives him to do more for people and he feels that as a MP he will be able to ‘give something back’ to the community, he feels that now more than ever, it is time we have the right people come forward to show the divers leadership within our society that can truly make a difference in Britain today and inspire people to work together in the interest of our country.
