I am delighted that I have been selected to stand up for the area where I was born and grew up. As a businessman I want to help local people and businesses to realise their potential. Under our Conservative led Government, Bridgend has seen the largest drop (28%) in the number of people claiming unemployment benefit last year and I want to ensure that trend continues. I will press for regeneration and investment in the area, particularly in Bridgend and Porthcawl where the seafront has barely changed in 50 years. I would also like to see many more businesses started in the area by local people.

I am deeply concerned about the damaging impact that Welsh Labour in Cardiff have had on the Principality in a number of devolved areas, such as the treatment of our sick and education of our young. I will, without reservation, continue to hold them to account.

Born and raised in Bridgend, I am a father of four, went to school in Ynysawdre and then studied accountancy at university. I trained as an accountant in the motor industry before moving into software and IT. I have over 25 years experience of the software industry, mostly running my own national IT companies, the first of which was built from a start up to a 70 person software house, eventually being sold to a plc.

As well as being a director of a software company, I also currently work for the UK Government advising on international trade, helping businesses to increase export sales, concentrating on software and IT companies and liaising with our embassies throughout the world.
