Candidate for Wirral West

Margaret Greenwood currently works as a web consultant structuring complex websites.

A former English teacher, she taught in secondary schools, FE colleges and adult education centres in Liverpool and Wirral. She also taught literacy to adult learners and worked with adults with special needs. She has also worked as a travel writer.

She is a committed campaigner and has been actively involved with the local community fighting the Coalition government’s privatisation of the NHS since 2010.

Margaret has campaigned on environmental issues relating to both the natural and built environment over many years. She is currently focusing on the implications of proposals for underground coal gasification in the Dee Estuary and has launched a Save Hilbre and the Dee Estuary campaign.
She is a keen hill walker, and is interested in theatre, music and painting.
