Jackie has represented the public at all levels of Local Government since her first campaign in 1991, and is keen to join the national stage as the Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP.

As a trained teacher, a mother, a School governor and Chairman of three charities supporting children, Jackie has always championed a good start in life for children. She has ensured that the Liberal Democrat Pupil Premium works well in the schools where she is involved, and is delivering practical ways for all young people to have access to training, jobs and apprenticeships.

Jackie started her working career in industry, then went on to work as a buyer for Marks and Spencer. She knows the importance of the role of large and small companies in providing employment opportunities, and the importance of a strong economy to restore public confidence after the ‘purse empty’ left after Labour’s period of office.

As a Charity Trustee, Jackie sees the role of Not for Profit organisations in today’s world as vital- but the need to maintain their integrity as Charities essential.

Jackie has had a great deal of experience working with the public as their representative.

She wants to take this experience of real lives into the world of Westminster.
