Truro and Falmouth, Hanna Tom
Born and brought up in Cornwall, my family has a long history of political activism. My education at The Roseland School and St Austell College enabled me to get a job in promotions in London. I then travelled for a year before returning home and training as a professional youth worker. I ran and worked on youth projects across the county and after qualifying left to further my career, running a busy London youth centre. I returned to Cornwall prior to the birth of my daughter.
I joined the Labour Party prompted partly by my disgust at the Liberal Democrats betrayal at the last General Election. My involvement has had a big impact on my life as I try to get Labour values of fairness and equality recognised and adopted in Cornwall. A local party activist and Cornwall Councillor for Falmouth Penwerris, I am also National Women's Officer for LGBT Labour.
