I have lived in the constituency since 1991 with my children attending local schools and youth organisations. As a Town Councillor for Honiton I am an active member of my community interested in the environment, housing and equality of opportunity.

As a secondary school teacher and SEN specialist I have a keen interest in education, young people and equalities. I have previously served on the General Teaching Council for England chairing its Audit Committee and I am also an active member of ATL-The Association of Teachers and Lecturers.

I am standing for Labour as I passionately believe politics and democracy belongs with ordinary people representing their own communities which they understand and are part of.
