Louise Baldock runs her own company advising small businesses on their marketing strategies. She lives in Ingleby Barwick in the Stockton South constituency.
A former pupil of Conyers School in Yarm and a graduate of Teesside Polytechnic, Louise has worked in the private, public and voluntary sector over a 30 year career. She has had a variety of roles in administration, accountancy, sales, personnel management, marketing, research and communications. An enthusiastic supporter of independent shops on the High Street, she now utilises that terrific experience to help fledgling and family-run companies stay profitable, keeping people in work.
Locally, Louise is campaigning against the bedroom tax and is supporting tenants with casework particularly in Thornaby where over 500 families have been affected. Having been an active school governor, she is engaging with young people in schools about their priorities as local government cuts damage youth services while job opportunities for those leaving school and university are more difficult. A former Vice Chair of a Housing Association, she is a passionate supporter of social and affordable housing; she has been leading the fight to prevent the building of an unsustainable and inappropriate development of 1100 new houses on the south of Ingleby Barwick on green wedge. She is supporting Tees Credit Union to open extra collection points and encourage more ethical savers to help those staving of a cost of living crisis.
