Daniel Hawthorne was born, bred and raised in the Stockport constituency. Daniel grew up in Heaton Norris and now lives in the area he represents as an elected Councillor, in the Manor Ward, which is situated just outside of Stockport Town Centre, in Offerton.

Growing up Daniel was educated at local Stockport schools, completed his A-Levels at Cheadle and Marple Sixth Form College and gained degrees from the University of Liverpool and the University of Manchester.

Daniel's political career started as the Political Assistant for the Liberal Democrats on Stockport Council. He then worked for Sir Andrew Stunell MP as an intern in his constituency office in Hazel Grove. Daniel then stood for election to become a Councillor on Stockport Council in 2010 which he won. While on the Council Daniel has served on a variety of committee's and has built up considerable knowledge and experience in the process.

Outside of politics Daniel has a strong interest in sport, particularly football. Daniel used to play at a semi-professional level and has played for a number of teams in the Stockport Sunday League. Daniel runs regularly and often runs in St Thomas', Woodbank and Vernon parks and has worked in a variety of positions since finishing University such as: retail, working on a social housing contract for British Gas, working as a personal assistant for an autistic child, working as a frontline homelessness officer and currently works as a Housing Officer.

Daniel is also a volunteer school governor at two Stockport schools and he wants to make Stockport a vibrant, cosmopolitan place to live. Daniel has campaigned strongly for regeneration of the town centre at the Town Hall which is now starting to happen with more housing available in the town centre and the re-development of the Grand Central and Debenhams 'Bridgefield' sites.

Daniel believes Stockport needs someone who is going to fight for the needs of the town and campaign for investment in Stockport from Westminster.
