CRAIG MACKINLAY
CANDIDATE FOR SOUTH THANET
Craig is 47, raised in Kent, married to Kati, a community Pharmacist. Craig is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser in practice in North Kent; accordingly, small businesses, the backbone of our growing economy, together with taxation and benefits are areas of particular interest.
A Kent magistrate and previously a member of Kent Police Authority - law and order issues are a further specialism, particularly the interaction of drugs and crime.
Craig was a founder of UKIP in 1992 and a former leader and deputy leader of it. He joined the Conservatives in 2005.
Has served as a Councillor in Kent for 7 years, so understands the importance of working together, particularly in areas of deprivation so that the entire community benefits.
A record of community action with membership of the Round Table organisation; also a trustee of many Kent charities, notably The Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust.
New ideas for South Thanet
Craig will be fighting for what really matters in South Thanet – cutting crime, a future for Manston, a new vision for Ramsgate and keeping Sandwich special. We are the party of aspiration, opportunities and personal freedoms with all reaping the benefits of an improving economy.
