I am delighted to stand for the iconic Liberal Democrat seat of Montgomeryshire. I have worked in the public sector for over 20 years as a child protection social worker, and have worked with refugee children and trafficked children. I have been a local councillor, am a trustee of a family centre in the constituency, and have been a school governor. I set up a community organisation, and have worked on a voluntary basis with people who are homeless. I was brought up in North Wales in a Welsh speaking family, and my husband and I live in Welshpool.

As a woman and a worker in the public sector, I believe passionately in parliament being more representative of voters. My background in working with those in need of protection means I am committed to a society that protects those who are vulnerable and need our support. In my voluntary and professional roles, I have aimed to work to change lives for the better.

I am running for public office as I want to influence policies and practices to make sure that society is fairer.
