Claire Thomas
Hull West & Hessle
Claire is a long term resident of Hull who is active in her local community.
Claire has been involved in many local campaigns, such as the campaigns to save Anlaby Park Library, the campaign for improvements to Gower Park, and campaign against car parking charges in Hessle.
Claire is always out and about in West Hull and Hessle, knocking on doors, attending community events, and visiting local businesses, listening to what local people think.
Labour has taken this area for granted for too long. Claire believes her role is to stand up for Hull and Hessle, and let people know about the great people in our area. It is Lib Dems in government that delivered a reduction in Humber bridge tolls and an extra £12 million for local schools with the pupil premium.
The Lib Dems have a good chance of beating Labour in Hull West and Hessle in the next general election, having come a good second place in 2010. The conservatives came 3rd in 2010, so the Lib Dems are best placed to beat Labour here.
Claire is currently a Lib Dem Councillor for Pickering Ward in West Hull, and has previously worked in a manufacturing company, and at Hull University.
Claire knows how important it is to fight for jobs in our area, and her experience as a manager in a family business means she is well placed to fight for jobs and investment in the local area.
