Croydon Central, Sarah Jones

Sarah Jones is a working mum of four and has lived in Croydon Central all her life.

A former Head of Campaigns at Shelter, Sarah has spent her career working hard to change things. She successfully worked for more affordable housing and support for homeless families. She worked for many years in health, and was part of the government’s top team delivering the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Sarah currently works in the NHS and is a Director of a housing association.

Locally, Sarah lives in the heart of the constituency. Her daughter attends the local school. Sarah has been a member of the Labour Party for over 20 years because she wants to make life better for ordinary people. Croydon has been let down by a Tory government and Tory Council with poor street cleaning, anti-social behaviour and a lack of investment in jobs and housing. Sarah is talking to local people about what they want to see change, and campaigning hard on local issues like schools, where Croydon has the biggest shortest of school places in London. She is also campaigning to ensure the new Westfield shopping development delivers jobs and housing for local people.

Sarah will campaign on housing and the NHS, where she has the experience to know what change needs to happen. As a working mum, she will bring a fresh approach to politics and will fight Croydon’s corner every step of the way.
