Central Devon, Lynne Richards

Lynne Richards has lived in a Central Devon village for more than 15 years, and her two sons attended local state schools. She has more than twenty five years experience in local government, housing, higher education, commercial and charitable sectors working in health and social care, and community development. She has significant senior level skills in the leadership and management of people, resources, information and activities. Until 2011, she was England Director of a leading family charity where 330 local groups provide home-visiting volunteers to support 77,000 vulnerable children and their 35,000 families.

Lynne is currently helping manage her family owned complementary health business in Exeter and Crediton, supporting her elderly relatives and being active in the local Transition Town initiative.

She says: “I am committed to achieving social change. My work and life experience has been almost entirely defined by my determination to support people in communities to have the services they need to be happy and safe, be in control of their lives and where they can, feel a sense of pride and ownership.”
