Colin Green is an active local campaigner in Selly Oak and has lived in Birmingham with his family since 2000.

Originally from Lancashire, Colin studied engineering at Staffordshire University before moving to the West Midlands. He has worked as a Software Engineer in the manufacturing sector since graduating in 2004.

Colin understands that jobs in manufacturing are often underpaid and is pleased Lib Dems in government are committed to taking low paid workers out of tax. He supports the policy of workers paying no Income Tax on the first £10,000 they earn, and wants to build on this success in the next Parliament.

Colin has publicly welcomed the Lib Dem’s successes in Coalition. Making taxes fairer, creating jobs and apprenticeships and giving more money to schools to make sure kids from tough backgrounds don’t get left behind. He wants to help change Britain so that everyone is able to achieve their full potential, regardless of their social or family background.

Colin would like to build on the Lib Dem’s successes in Parliament. He wants to help create more apprenticeships, which give young people a step up into work. To deliver more social housing that people can afford, and to help education tackle inequality so that everyone has a fair start in life.
