The Green Party has selected its Bath candidate for the 2015 General Election. Software architect and public service expert Dominic Tristram will represent it in the constituency.
The 39-year-old has worked in the high tech industry in Bath for 15 years, both for start-ups and larger companies, where he has worked with various government bodies to advise on technology. He lives in Odd Down with his parter and 18 month old daughter.
Mr Tristram already represents the people of Bath as an elected public governor at the RUH, where he stood on an anti-privatisation platform against the Coalition's Health and Social Care Act.
He said: "I have always cared deeply about the environment, but the Greens are also the only party that is campaigning for a publicly owned NHS run for people, not profits. It is the only party that listens to the public's wish to renationalise rail, reduce energy bills and raise the minimum wage to a living wage."
"I have stood because I strongly believe that the Greens offer the only real alternative to all of the other parties, who all support the failed neoliberal consensus we are suffering from today. We are the only party whose policies are evidenced-based, rather than mired in ideological dogma."
