CHRIS WHITE
MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR WARWICK AND LEAMINGTON
Chris was elected in 2010. He plays an active role in the local community as a school governor, and as a trustee of a number of local organisations, including Motionhouse and WAYC (a local charity which has worked with young people and youth clubs for 60 years). He is also a patron of the Leamington based international charity, Cord. Chris has gained a reputation as a hardworking constituency MP, always putting constituents first.
In 2010 he authored the Public Services (Social Value) Act which passed through Parliament in 2012. Implemented in 2013, the Social Value Act imposes on all public bodies a duty to consider how the services they commission and procure might improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of the area. In Warwick and Leamington, Chris has worked with local Chambers of Commerce and Trade as well as the Federation of Small Businesses to support local businesses and recently hosted a successful Jobs Fair in the constituency. Chris has campaigned for video games tax relief which greatly supports the local entertainment industry and the continued development of “Silicon Spa.” He has promoted British manufacturing through his Co-Chairmanship of the All Party Parliamentary Manufacturing Group, a sector which has a great heritage and significance in the region.
