Rob White (Reading East MP candidate and Park Ward councillor)
Rob White was elected as Reading's first Green Party councillor in Park Ward in 2010.
Rob has lived in Reading since 2001, currently in Coventry Road. In the past Rob has worked as a software engineer and ran a successful gardening business. He is now very busy in the local community including active involvment with Newtown GLOBE (Go Local On a Better Environment), Newtown NAG (Neighbourhood Action Group), and as a governor and volunteer lollipop man at Alfred Sutton School.
Rob has been involved in many successful local campaigns: saving play equipment in Palmer Park, tackling speeding across Reading with the 20's Plenty campaign and getting the council to produce a climate change strategy to name a few. At a national level Rob campaigned against the war in Iraq, for the abolition of tuition fees and for government action on climate change.
Rob is out in Park Ward all year round knocking on doors and talking to people about local issues. Through this work he is able to help people solve local problems. He has helped improve the local area by getting countless bins installed, pram crossings created and street lights fixed.
Rob also stood in the general elections in 2005 and 2010.
