ANN MYATT
CANDIDATE FOR WESTMORLAND AND LONSDALE
Ann spent her early childhood in Cumbria, returning many times after her family moved away, for holidays walking the Fells.
Ann qualified as a doctor at Leeds University and worked in hospitals in the North of England before specialising in her current field. She is a Consultant Dermatologist of many years standing and has wide experience of Governance issues as well as direct patient care. Health Services are particularly important to the people of this constituency. Ann supports this Government’s desire to increase transparency and accountability in the Health Service and is keen to play her part in improving patient care and public health in this area.
Ann stood as Parliamentary candidate for the Conservative Party in the West Yorkshire constituency of Hemsworth at the General Election in 2010.
Ann is married with two grown-up children. She lives in a small, rural village, where her children attended the local school. Ann enjoyed supporting the school as Chairman of the Governing body. She is a life member of the National Trust and is interested in rural affairs and the environment as well as Health issues.
Commenting on her selection Ann said ‘It is a great honour to be selected as the Conservative Candidate for Westmorland and Lonsdale. I am delighted that I can now return to live and work in this beautiful area. I look forward to campaigning for the people of this constituency and to them returning a Conservative Member to Parliament at the next General Election.
