BRANDON LEWIS
MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR GREAT YARMOUTH
Brandon Lewis was elected MP for Great Yarmouth in May 2010 and appointed Minister for Local Government in September 2012, and Minister for Communities & Local Government in July 2014.
Since being elected, Brandon has campaigned on employment, coastal issues, public transport, business and enterprise, pensions and fuel duty, to name but a few. He has also helped to secure £28 million in funding for flood defences in Great Yarmouth, successfully lobbied for the formation of a local Enterprise Zone, has helped to drive forward improvements to his local hospital, and is a patron of an independent palliative care hospice charity.
Brandon’s priorities for the future of Great Yarmouth include the continuing economic growth of the area and major improvements to the A47. In his role in the Department for Communities and Local Government, Brandon has responsibility for Local Government, Town Centres, Fire & Resilience, Flood Recovery, Community Pubs and Travellers. Brandon enjoys triathlons and the theatre.
