Chris Took
Woking
Chris Took has been a political campaigner for the Liberal Democrats for more than a decade. First elected as a local councillor in 2003, by a single vote after 5 recounts, Chris has twice contested the Parliamentary Constituency of Ashford and, in 2015, will be seeking to topple the Conservative Party in Woking.
Chris has been involved in a number of high profile campaigns including the retention of residential wardens for those in sheltered accommodation and the battle for Gurkha Justice.
At the 2010 general election, the Lib Dems came a strong second to the Conservatives in Woking. Labour were a distant third and have no chance of winning the seat. The Lib Dems are the opposition group on Woking Borough Council and have a real chance of winning in 2015.
As Company Director of an international software business Chris has been very welcoming of the Liberal Democrats apprenticeship drive, allowing companies like his to take on more staff and drive growth in the economy.
Chris’ wife Josie was born in and brought up in the local area – much of her family still lives locally (and will be on hand to assist Chris with leaflet delivery no doubt in 2015!)
